Largest District of Jharkhand
West Singhbhum is the Largest District of Jharkhand in terms of geographical area, covering around 5,291 square kilometers. Located in the southern region of the state, it is widely known for its rich mineral deposits, especially iron ore, making it significant to the mining sector. The District of Jharkhand is also home to a huge forest named the Saranda forest, located in the hilly region of West Singhbhum district, which is among the largest sal forests in Asia that also contributes to the region’s rich biodiversity.

Ramgarh District, with a population of about 9.5 lakh with a total geographical area of 1212 km is the Smallest District of Jharkhand. It was established on September 12, 2007, carved out of the former Hazaribagh District.
