First Chief Minister of Delhi
Chaudhary Brahm Prakash was born in 1918 in Nairobi, Kenya. He became the First Chief Minister of Delhi on March 17, 1952 at the age of 34 and served until February 12, 1955. He was representing the Nangloi Jat constituency. His political career included serving as a Union Cabinet Minister for Food, Cultivation, and Cooperatives. Brahm Prakash was known for his commitment to rural advancement and the improvement of backward communities.
Current Chief Minister of Delhi
Rekha Gupta, member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is the Current Chief Minister of Delhi. She took office on 20th February 2025 , following the BJP’s victory in the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections. Before becoming the Chief Minister, she served as BJP’s General Secretary and has been actively involved in women’s and children’s welfare programs as well as in supporting disadvantaged female students.

First Female Chief Ministers of Delhi
Sushma Swaraj served as First female Chief Minister of Delhi from October 13, 1998, to December 3, 1998. She was a leading figure of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and one of the most well-respected people in Indian politics. Sushma Swaraj had a long and distinguished political career. She held many important positions, including being the Union Minister of External Affairs between 2014 and 2019, during which she was highly complimented for her diplomatic abilities and initiatives to help Indian citizens living overseas.
She also worked as a member of the state and central government in various roles, such as the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Health and Family Welfare, and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha.
