Current Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is the Current Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. He took office on 11 December 2022, leading the Indian National Congress. He is also the 7th Chief Minister of the state, and he represents the Nadaun constituency. He was the president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee from 2013 to 2019.
First Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh
Yashwant Singh Parmar was the First Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. He served from 8 March 1952 to 31 October 1956 and again from 1963 to 1977. He is known as the “Maker of Himachal Pradesh” for his role in its formation. After his first term ended in 1956, the state was made a union territory, and the office of Chief Minister became inoperative. In 1963, Yashwant Singh Parmar once again became Chief Minister, and during his reign, in 1971, Himachal regained full statehood.
