Mizoram, initially part of Assam as the Lushai Hills District, became a Union Territory on 21 January 1972 and achieved full statehood on 20 February 1987. Since 1972, the state has been led by Five Prominent Chief Ministers representing four political parties. The First Chief Minister was Ch. Chhunga, who served from 1972 to 1977 under the Mizo Union. The shortest-serving Chief Minister was Laldenga, who held office for 146 days in 1986–1987. Mizoram has experienced President’s Rule three times. Current Chief Minister of Mizoram
Following the Mizoram Legislative Assembly Election 2023, Lalduhoma, leader of the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), was appointed as the Chief Minister of Mizoram on 8 December 2023. He is a former Indian Police Service officer. Lalduhoma represents the Serchhip constituency. His tenure focuses on governance reforms, economic development, and promoting transparency, with key portfolios including Finance, Vigilance, and General Administration.

First Chief Minister of Mizoram
