Yogi Adityanath from the Bharatiya Janata Party is the Current Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He has held the position since March 19, 2017. First Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh
The First Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh was Govind Ballabh Pant, who took office on January 26, 1950, when the state was officially renamed from the United Provinces to Uttar Pradesh. He was a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress and a key figure in India’s struggle for independence. He served until December 27, 1954 and is also remembered as India’s Union Home Minister and was honored with the Bharat Ratna in 1957.
